2010 Tanzania Field School, May 7-June 9

Classes were held prior to departure at VIU. To introduce students to Swahili culture, they had language study and homestay in Stonetown (Zanzibar), before travelling to Dar-es-Salaam, Dodoma and area, Arusha, Lake Manyara, Oldupai Gorge, and Ngorongoro Crater. Students were able to visit local markets, as well as two monthly ones (small and large), and museums; and to learn about NGOs, education, Tanzanian life (village and city) and the impact of tourism directly through experience.
