2010 Tanzania Field School, May 7-June 9Classes were held prior to departure at VIU. To introduce students to Swahili culture, they had language study and homestay in Stonetown (Zanzibar), before travelling to Dar-es-Salaam, Dodoma and area, Arusha, Lake Manyara, Oldupai Gorge, and Ngorongoro Crater. Students were able to visit local markets, as well as two monthly ones (small and large), and museums; and to learn about NGOs, education, Tanzanian life (village and city) and the impact of tourism directly through experience. |

Preparation of Ethics Statement | April 23, 2024 - 10:47am |
Students conducting research involving human subjects must undergo a departmental ethics review (DRP), which includes the completion of the online Tri-Council Policy Statement Tutorial. Projects deemed low risk (see Minimal Risks Checklist) will be reviewed by the faculty supervisor and one other member of the department. All other projects will be subject to a full review by the VIU’s Research Ethics Board (VIU REB). |
