Criminology Majors: Your Last Semester January 24, 2022 - 12:59pm

All Criminology Majors must take CRIM 475 (Applied Research/Field Placement) in the last semester of their studies. This course requires that you have two free days a week to work in a criminal justice-related agency. Note that the prerequisites for this course include CRIM 474, PHIL 465, and all third year courses.

Profile

Patrick Carpenter was born in Nanaimo. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in music composition and theory with distinction from the University of Victoria, where he studied with Rudolf Komorous.

James was born and raised on the West Coast of Canada and has been studying music since the age of four. While in high school James performed with many renowned acts including Ashley MacIsaac, and Spirit of the West; he also recorded an album with The Irish Rovers.

Bryan retired from a 35-year career as a music educator in Nanaimo. Since ‘retiring,’ he has taught Jazz Theory and Improvisation in the Vancouver Island University Music Department.  He directs the Nanaimo Musicians' Association Big Band.

Pat Coleman teaches guitar ensemble and combos, as well as private instrument instruction. As a professional jazz guitar player for the past 39 years, Pat has performed with the top jazz musicians of Canada, the USA, and Europe and is very active in the Canadian music scene.
