About Don: I did my PhD in Planning at the University of Waterloo, and have been writing about planning-related issues for the past 25-30 years. I have also been involved with citizen organizations seeking to protect significant environmental features in BC and Ontario. My main areas of interest are sustainable cities and place-making approaches to planning that incorporate ecological, functional, aesthetic, civic, and social justice perspectives.
