threadbare
Connie Michele Morey
Threadbare explores the effects of colonial industries on interspecies displacement and ecological loss through stitch-work, embroidery, sculpture, photography, stop-motion, and performance. Through thoughtful and sensitive handling of her materials Connie investigates the tension between our need for material security that current economic models promise to satisfy, and our longing for a more connected relationship to the planet and the other living things that reside here. She tells a story that includes loss and grief but also hope and renewal.
