I R L  (in real life) is a fresh look at the landscape through the lense of our contemporary moment. Living so much of our lives through the mediating forces of screen technologies has forever changed our experience of the natural world. It is now more difficult than ever to have an authentic experience of our environment without first looking through the filters of nature documentaries, postcard images and/or Instagram posts. This alienation from the ecosystem on which we depend  is a starting point of Shwart’s work.
